| Crew caps season Tuesday with Tecos exhibition
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Crew will officially close out its 12th season on Tuesday (Nov. 13) when it plays host Tecos UAG of the Mexican Premier Division in an international exhibition at Crew Stadium at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday's match will be broadcast live exclusively via webcast at TheCrew.com, with Neil Sika on the call. The game is included in all Gold-level Crew Soccer Nation memberships, designated as Special Game "C." Tulsa falls to rival
Oklahoma City scores game-winner shorthanded.
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City entered the game with the Central Hockey League's top power-play unit. Indeed, special teams play proved the difference, but it was a shorthanded goal that the Blazers used to beat Tulsa.
Garrett Prosofsky lit the lamp 1:47 into the final period, depositing the puck into a wide open net, as the Blazers nudged the Oilers 4-2 before a crowd of 8,136 Sunday night at the Ford Center. The loss was Tulsa's third straight and fifth in six games.
"It seems like a roller coaster," said Tulsa coach Butch Kaebel. "We do really good things and then really bad things. Frenchy (Kevin St. Pierre) made some great saves and then the third goal came on a mistake. Every mistake is being magnified.

Eagles in wild-card logjam in NFC
PHILADELPHIA -- If the Eagles could have pulled off the greatest upset in NFL history Sunday night they would have been sitting by themselves in the NFC's second wild-card spot, just one game behind the Giants for the top wild-card spot. Instead, as quarterback A.J. Feeley's end-zone pass intended for Kevin Curtis was picked off by New England's Asante Samuel, the Eagles remained a game out of the wild-card picture and log-jammed with five other five-win teams. With five games left in the regular season, the NFC division titles are becoming clearer, Dallas has a three-game lead in the East; Green Bay has a four-game lead in the North; Tampa Bay has a two-game lead in the South; and Seattle has a two-game lead in the West. As far as the race for the two wild-card spots go, it's anybody guess.
Gogoi now rushes into award for cricketers
Two days ago, as Team India defeated Pakistan in the first one-day international cricket match at the Nehru Stadium here, the first thing that Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi did was to declare a cash award of Rs 1 lakh to each of the Indian team members. What is surprising is that the Assam Government is yet to disburse cash awards that Gogoi had announced for each of the 148 players from Assam who had won medals in the 33rd National Games held here in February. Assam had won 38 gold, 53 silver and 27 bronze medals in the National Games and became the overall third best team, Gogoi had announced Rs 3 lakh, Rs 2 lakh and Rs 1 lakh each for the gold, silver and bronze medallists, respectively, in individual events. For team events, the awards announced were Rs 5 lakh, Rs 3 lakh and Rs 2 lakh.

Hectic schedule delights Gunter
Cardiff and Wales defender Chris Gunter is delighted to get his season back on track after four games in nine days. The full-back, 18, had been struggling for a place at Ninian Park before impressing in Wales' draws with the Republic of Ireland and Germany. He then returned to the Bluebirds side for Saturday's vital win over Ipswich and Monday's 0-0 draw at Leicester. FC Thun players charged for alleged sex with minor
Six current and three former FC Thun soccer players were charged Tuesday for allegedly having sexual relations with a minor. Five other individuals, who are not soccer players, also face charges, the office of the investigating magistrate of the Bernese Alps said. .
